Verger’s Women’s Leadership Initiative (VWLI) recently spent an afternoon volunteering at the Forsyth Humane Society. This event provided an opportunity for team members to bond while giving back to the community.
During the visit, our team helped prepare items for the Humane Society's upcoming "Furr Ball" Gala, held on September 14th. The Furr Ball is their largest annual fundraiser, supporting their mission to find loving homes for animals in need. In addition to preparing items for the gala, we spent time providing enrichment for several of the dogs available for adoption, giving them social interaction, pets, and plenty of head scratches.
After the afternoon of volunteering, members of the VWLI group gathered for lunch to further connect and reflect on the day's activities. This event highlights VWLI’s commitment to community service and fostering connections both within Verger and the wider Winston-Salem area.
