Liz Laughter Earns Duke University Certificate in Nonprofit Management
We’re proud to announce that Liz Laughter, Verger’s Managing Director of Client Service, has completed her certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University – deepening her expertise and nuanced understanding of the governance, fiduciary, and mission-driven complexities our non-profit clients face every day.
Liz’s decision to pursue this certificate represents her deep commitment to acting as an extension of our clients’ staff – helping boards, finance committees, and leadership teams align investment strategy with mission and long-term impact.
Well-regarded for its seasoned instructors and unique insights, Duke’s Nonprofit Management program curriculum is designed to represent the evolving needs of the changing non-profit sector and the complexities of Board governance and strategic planning. Importantly, the curriculum incorporates diverse perspectives from non-profit Board members, investment, business, and development office leaders.
"From personal experience, I know that serving on a nonprofit board and working in an investment office is demanding, with competing priorities, limited resources, and diverse stakeholders. That’s why Verger continually expands and deepens our expertise — so we can be an invaluable resource and a true extension of our clients’ committees and staff.” - Liz Laughter
Please join us in congratulating Liz, who constantly shows us how to truly be of service to our non-profit clients, meeting them where they are and supporting them well beyond the boundaries of traditional investment management.
