We are pleased to share that Verger’s CEO, Jim Dunn, has been named to Business North Carolina’s Power List for the sixth consecutive year. The annual list spotlights approximately 500 of the state's most influential leaders—key decision-makers and agenda-setters identified through editorial reporting, research, and public nominations. Jim is featured in the Finance & Insurance section of the 2026 issue.
This recognition speaks to the kind of leadership that defines Verger's work and the institutions we serve: university endowments, foundations, and other mission-driven organizations. These institutions operate on long time horizons and carry significant responsibilities to the communities and causes they support. Jim has long held that the OCIO role is as much about stewardship as it is about investment strategy. He often returns to a quote from economist James Tobin: "The trustees of endowed institutions are the guardians of the future against the claims of the present." That orientation shapes how Verger approaches every client relationship.
We congratulate Jim and all of this year's honorees on this recognition.
