Verger in the Community: The Parenting PATH Angel Tree
In the spirit of the season, the Verger Team recently participated in The Parenting PATH's Angel Tree program, providing gifts to a local family in need.
The Parenting PATH, a local non-profit serving Winston-Salem and neighboring communities, orchestrates the annual Angel Tree program, connecting individuals with children in need for holiday gifts. For Verger, it was an opportunity to engage in a meaningful way with our local non-profit community. Team members organized a sign-up for the Angel Tree program, allowing staff to contribute items from the wish list of the family we were matched with. The family had requests ranging from basic necessities to gifts for their three children, including 4-month-old twins.
The experience of shopping for the family was heartwarming, from selecting clothing to choosing baby toys, a new bike, and adding stockings filled with gifts, our team was generous and thoughtful in fulfilling their wish list. The joy derived from knowing we were making a positive impact on an individual level in our community was the highlight of our recent holiday celebrations. The team shopped, wrapped, and delivered several carloads of items to The Parenting PATH to be given to our family.
This holiday season, we are grateful for the opportunity to live our mission To Invest in the Lives of Others through this partnership. Our engagement with The Parenting PATH not only brought holiday cheer to a deserving family but also reminded us of the power of community and compassion.
