Verger in the Community: The Shalom Project

As part of Verger’s ongoing commitment to community engagement, our team recently came together to support The Shalom Project, a local nonprofit working to build a stronger and healthier Winston-Salem.

The Shalom Project provides essential services including free weekly meals, a clothing closet, a food pantry, and a medical clinic, helping individuals and families facing poverty or hardship.

Team members Tricia Walker and Angela Fan took the lead in organizing the effort, selecting the Shalom Project in response to a growing need in our community. Our full team donated items from the organization’s wish list, including crackers, Gatorade, high-protein snacks, and fruit snacks.

We set up an assembly line in the office and worked together to pack the items into gallon-sized bags for easy distribution. Afterward, we shared lunch and reflected on the importance of small acts of service.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to support the Shalom Project and the work they do to serve our neighbors.
