The Verger Capital Management (Verger) Board of Managers is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Carter as a member of the Board. Carter is the Co-Founder of V|C Broadgate, a boutique merchant bank focused on selected verticals of the Financial Services landscape, namely Asset Gathering, Insurance, Re-Insurance, Banking and Fintech.
Prior to founding V|C Broadgate, he was the Head of Strategy and a member of the Management Committee and Investment Committees for FS Investments, where he led the restructuring of FS Investments’ $20 billion BDC platform and the restructuring of the firm’s operations functions.
From 2007 to 2017, Carter was the Chief Operating Officer at Magnetar Capital, where he had direct managerial responsibility for all global operations, strategic planning, business development and implementation of strategic transactions.
Carter began his career in finance joining Lehman Brothers Inc. where he spent fifteen years. He was a Managing Director in the Hedge Fund Banking Group responsible for enterprise value solutions, including IPOs, minority stake sales, and alternative financing for the general partnerships of private equity and alternative asset managers. He co-headed Lehman's Structured Credit Structuring Desk, co-headed US Structured Credit Sales, and helped launch the firm's securitization business in London.

Carter received his Bachelor of Science in Business and Minor in Politics from Wake Forest University, where he is a member Emeritus of the College Board of Visitors.
