Verger Marks Milestone with Team Recognition and Service Project

Written by Verger Capital Management | Jun 3, 2024 1:13:42 PM

To mark the exciting occasion of our 10th anniversary, Verger recently spent a day connecting, volunteering, and celebrating as a team. This special event provided an opportunity to reflect on Verger's history, including the contributions of current and former staff members, and the interns who have played a role in our firm's success over the past decade.

Staff Members Taylor Jackson and Tricia Walker Receive Awards

The firm recognized individuals for their exceptional contributions, presenting awards to Taylor Jackson and Tricia Walker: these awards honor leadership, a strong work ethic, collaboration, and dedication to excellence. Taylor received the "MVP" Award for his six-plus years of outstanding contributions to our investment team and the firm. Tricia was awarded the "Community Engagement" Award for her commitment to philanthropy and service both inside and outside Verger. Each recipient was recognized by members of the leadership team and presented with a custom award to commemorate their achievements.

Jim Dunn Recognized for Internship Program and Mentorship

Jim Dunn, who founded Verger's intern program before the firm's launch during his tenure as Wake Forest's CIO, was honored by former interns Jiang Wu and Will Boyle. Since its inception, Verger has proudly hosted over 130 interns from diverse backgrounds. In recognition of Jim's mentorship and advocacy for the internship program, Jiang and Will presented him with a plaque bearing the names of all Verger interns to date. Both spoke about how their experiences at Verger shaped their lives and careers, highlighting the positive impact of Jim's support and mentorship. This was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with former interns and reaffirm our commitment to providing learning opportunities about endowment management, our clients, and the important work we do each day.

A Day of Celebration Included Service to the Community

No Verger celebration would be complete without a service project. As part of our anniversary festivities, the team spent several hours volunteering at City With Dwellings (CWD), a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting unhoused neighbors with healing and resources to help them achieve housing stability. Verger staff helped prepare CWD's community space for their first fundraiser by giving it a thorough cleaning, ensuring it was ready to welcome guests for a day of celebration and fundraising.

Our 10th anniversary celebration was a meaningful day of reflection, recognition, and community service, embodying Verger's values and commitment to making a positive impact both within our firm and in the broader community.
